Institute for Religious Studies About Us
The Heidelberg Institute for Religious Studies specialises in the religions of the world from a cultural studies perspective. The focus is on current religious developments such as new spiritualities and formations that have similarities with religions, such as conspiracy narratives or fan cultures. We pay particular attention to the transformation of religions through digitalisation and the use of artificial intelligence in the field of religions.
The institute in the middle of Heidelberg's old town offers its own seminar rooms, library and spacious co-working spaces. On the following pages, we present our mission statement, our team, our library, the student council and our alumni.
